Twitter Looking for Head of Consumer Product … Again

One of the hottest seats in social media shows no signs of cooling off, as Twitter is once again looking for a head of consumer product.

Twitter confirmed to Kurt Wagner of Re/code that Jeff Seibert (below), who assumed the role last September, is returning to his former role of running developer product suite Fabric.

A Twitter spokesperson provided the following statement to Wagner:

This year, we're focused on delivering on five product priorities-refining our core service, live-streaming video, creators, safety and developers-as well as recruiting great talent. We've successfully increased our shipping cadence on our core service and have asked some of our top leaders to take on key roles in the other priority areas.

Wagner added that senior engineering director Ed Ho will oversee consumer product at Twitter on an interim basis, but a permanent replacement has not been named.

Prior to Twitter, Seibert served as co-founder of Crashlytics, which was acquired by Twitter in January 2013.

Wagner also reported that Twitter is adding an influencer branch to its product team, which will be led by engineering vice president Jeremy Rishel.

Readers: Why do you think no one has been able to seize control of the post of head of consumer product at Twitter?
